The challenge must start on the first day of the month.
Participants must begin on day 1 and continue through to the final day of the month. -
Distances must be completed on the correct day.
Each distance must be completed on the calendar day it represents. Runs cannot be completed early or made up later. -
No banking distance.
Running extra distance on one day does not count toward another day’s run. -
No catching up missed days.
If you miss a day, the challenge ends for that attempt. -
The distance may be split into multiple runs.
You may complete the required distance through multiple runs within the same day if necessary. -
Running or walking is allowed.
Participants may run, jog, or walk the required distance. -
Outdoor runs and treadmill runs both count.
Runs may be completed outside or on a treadmill. -
All distances should be recorded.
Participants should record their runs using a GPS watch, treadmill record, or tracking app such as Strava, Garmin, or a similar platform. -
Distances must be recorded in kilometres.
All distances should be tracked in kilometres to match the structure of the challenge. -
Each day must be completed within that calendar day.
The required distance must be finished within the 24 hour period of that day. -
Participants must complete every day to finish the challenge.
To successfully complete the 496 Challenge, all daily distances must be completed according to the rules. -
Participants take part at their own risk.

The challenge runs on honesty and personal accountability.
The 496 Challenge is built on discipline and integrity. Respect the structure and complete the distance properly.
